Matthew G. Robinson was taking his father's advice in refusing to begin celebrating election night when it appeared likely he was the next mayor of Hazelwood.

Robinson's father is Glennon Robinson, who served as Hazelwood's mayor from 1988 to 1991 and for 16 years was on the City Council.
